Technical note

Word verification for comments is back on -- apparently, it IS necessary for filtering out spam comments, even with anonymous commenting blocked. I am impressed/amused by Johnny Canuck's effort to disguise his spam as a real comment, complete with false flattery. It has a sort of horoscope-esque quality about it, general enough to apply to almost any circumstance. But upon closer inspection, it makes no sense whatsoever.
