Ah, priorities
Trolling the Christianity Today website for the latest on the Georgetown Protestant Ministries fiasco, I came across this gem in Ted Olsen's news roundup:
5. David Jenkins banned from local pulpits
For all those who thought it was a bit odd that Greg Boyd lost 1,000 of his 5,000 members for criticizing conservative politics rather than for arguing that God doesn't know the future, here's a much better story. David Jenkins, the former Bishop of Durham, argued against the physical resurrection of Jesus, the literal truth of the Bible, and the continued existence of his own Church of England. But it wasn't until he used the words "bloody" and "damn" in a sermon that he got was banned from two area churches. Ah, priorities. [emph. added]
