Rachel is sick.
My annual back-to-school cold held back just long enough to lull me into complacency, and then as soon as October rolled around, WHAM!
It's not that I'm all that miserable...
... just that my brain has turned to mush ...
... and I don't feel like moving.
Other than that, it's not bad, for an infectious disease.
I am such a wimp when it comes to viruses.

Poor Rachel.
I used to get an annual visit from the Strep Throat fairy. Know how it feels.
(Even though it's technically a bacterium instead of a virus, and it's actually potentially lethal, whereas a cold is merely inconvenient and painful. Still, you fudge a little when you're going for sympathy, right?)
Rachel,
Here is a quote from Alan Jacobs' book, _The Narnian_, where C. S. Lewis describes his idea of the good life: "My ideal happiness...would be to read the [Renaissance] Italian epic - to be always convalescent from some small illness and always seated in a window that overlooked the sea, there to read these poems eight hours of each happy day."
Get thee to the coast--and bring a book!
