Go, David, Go!
David is defending his preliminary exams as I type these words. I'm sure he will do swimmingly, even if he can't light his pipe in the classroom (he said he didn't want to give the impression that he was "blowing smoke," but others of us thought that it might cut a very scholarly profile).
Congratulations to David, Sarah, and Graham on this milestone.
