Odds & Ends

Personal challenge: can I link to items I find interesting while limiting myself to two sentences of commentary per link, max? Without resorting to semi-colons? Let's see!

  • All I can say is that this church better have an amazing small group ministry. I don't think I could handle it if my church cut back to meeting once a month(!). Church is one of the few things keeping me (marginally) sane.
  • I hope eBay keeps this auction up for a while, because it's such a fun read. Unfortunately, the seller did not cash the the check of the winning bidder. I think she deserves the money.
  • This critique seems to miss what is to me the chief virtue of facebook -- that it allows me to control who has access to my personal information. I wouldn't feel comfortable with free and open social networking systems.
  • How can the manufacturers of this product sleep at night putting a price tag like that on a doll with such a name? The only way I can imagine it being justifiable is if the overwhelming majority of the purchase price is paid to the organization represented as a licensing fee. And even then I'm not sure.
  • I have very mixed feelings about this sequel. I'm sure there's a story worth telling there, but there's no way it could live up to the original.
  • This sequel, on the other hand, has the potential to be a LOT of fun, if done right.
Okay; how'd I do? 3, 1, 3, 2.5, 3, 2, 1. Average: 2.21429. Unless I cheated by dividing the comment about movie sequels into two separate items (well, they are completely different movies!), in which case the average is 2.58333. In other words, it appears that I can't limit myself to two sentences of commentary. But I can be relatively succinct. When I want to be.
