Books You Might Actually Be Interested In
My C.S. Lewis books have been breeding. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. It's the only reasonable explanation for how I came to NC with no copies of The Great Divorce and now have, uh, five? or six? I can't keep track.
It couldn't possibly be because I fail to remember which of Lewis' books I already have, and how many, and so I just keep buying them on impulse whenever I find them cheap. Nah. The problem must be that I double-shelve my books, and so St. Clive's works wind up back there in the dark, away from my prying eyes, and, well, ...
So. Anybody with gaps in the collection of the Lewis corpus? I'll unload them at a worth charity, unless one or more of my readers calls first dibs. Or maybe I'll bookcross them.
Available:
- Mere Christianity
The Grand Miracle(Selections from God in the Dock)MiraclesThe Abolition of ManThe Problem of PainOut of the Silent Plant- The Chronicles of Narnia (
one complete set, in the 1970s era paperbacks, plus spares of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Horse and His Boy, and The Magician's Nephew). - The Great Divorce (multiple copies)
Also, I have a ridiculous stockpile of The Book of Common Prayer (USA, 1979). If you are a theologian or pastor, or a lay person who appreciates the rhythms of liturgy, however far removed you are from the Episcopal Church, you really ought to have one of these guys around for reference. But, um, you shouldn't have as many of them as I do. Unless you're running your own prayer services.

We have Narnia and the Great Divorce, and would welcome any of the titles that are up for grabs. We'll be at Blacknall on Sunday if there's anything you need to unload!
I'd be happy to take one of the BCP copies off your hands...thanks!
You never said anything in your last blog about double-shelving your books. That throws my calculations all off! BTW, at some point you should inform those of us playing if we're even in the ballpark.
Yay! I'll bring books to church on Sunday; if we miss each other then, I'll arrange deliveries next week. Still taking orders...
