More thoughts on whether Lt. Cmdr. Data has a soul
This week's Sightings newsletter from the Martin Marty Center discusses the question of whether artificially intelligent entities (creatures?) would have religion. It makes passing reference to the question (or rather, our carbon-based-life-form prejudices) about whether robots might have "souls," which reminded me of Tygre's contemplation on the subject. Technically speaking, being religious (whatever that is) and having a soul (whatever that is) are different matters, but they are interestingly related.
