The Moving Cube Goeth

Turns out, 6 feet by 7 feet by 8 feet is a lot of space. Even if it doesn't really look it at first glance.

Turns out, I have a lot of stuff.

I didn't quite fill the thing to the top, although that was more for lack of time than lack of stuff. We'll see how satisfactory my packing job was when we get to the other end. I figure the books are tough and everything else is expendable, so I can't imagine the voyage being too damaging.

There is still a lot of my stuff in the apartment. A couple of carloads to the Goodwill are in my near future, as well as some mad purging and tossing and the packing of the car. I hope I can get this mess cleared out in the next few days.

But first, I must party. Fare thee well, 2007!

For those awaiting book totals: alas, you must wait a bit longer, my friend. I kept running tallies for each box, but I haven't taken the time to add them all up yet. That may become a job for the road, during my non-driving shifts. You'll know when I know, or as soon thereafter as I can reasonably make my way to an internet connection.

Having the (bulk of the) packing finished feels a bit like coming out of end-of-semester paper-writing crunch. Only with more sore muscles.

Congratulations on completing the bulk of the packing. Happily, the car will hold so much less that it won't be nearly as much work.

Cheers to 2008.
