The Moving Cube Hath Come

And before noon and everything.

Of course I was in the bathroom when they called to say "we're here!" (TMI?)

I had to go out and direct traffic so that the driver could back his rig back onto the street, since there wasn't enough room in our parking lot to turn around. Mercifully, my street isn't a high-traffic thoroughfare, although it can get backed up a bit at rush hour, which isn't now. So it wasn't too complicated. With 20/20 hindsight, it probably would have been better to direct him to the even-less-traveled side street and let him bring the cube around the corner on the forklift, but that would have had hassles of its own, and all's well that ends well.

This feels ... so ... REAL to have my actual packing unit here, awaiting my worldly goods.

The trick is going to be maximizing the 8 ft. height capacity of the thing. I've been practicing by stacking boxes 8 ft. high in my living room and closet.

California, here I come...
